About Shri Yugal Kishor JI श्री जुगल किशोर जी मंदिर
Shri Yugal Kisore Ji Temple is one of the oldest temples of Vrindavan, It was built in 1627. Akbar visited to Vrindavan in 1570 and he gave permission to build four temples. The four series of temples are as Shri Madana mohana Ji Temple, Shri Govind Dev Ji Temple , Shri Gopinatha Ji Temple and Shri Yugal Kisore Ji Temple. It is also called as Kesi ghata temple, as it is located next to Kesi Ghat. Kesi Ghat is Lord Krishna had killed Kesi, the horse demon at this place during the Dwaper yuga.
History
During the King Akbar's rule, in 1570 Gaudiya Vaishnava community from Vrindavan asked permission to build some temples in Vrindavan. King Akbar gave permission to build four temples in Vrindavan. These are as Shri Mandan Mohan Ji Temple, Shri Govind Dev Ji Temple, Shri Jugal Kishore Ji Temple and Shri Gopinath Ji Temple. But latter Aurangzeb attacked on three out of these four temples. The original deities were move to somewhere else in Rajasthan to protect them. Only the Jugal Kishore's original deity was remain in Vrindavan with Shri Yugal kishor Ji temple. Jugal Kishore temple is built up of Red sandstone.
