Shri Madan Mohan JI Vrindavan
Sri Madan Mohan temple is one of the ancient temples in Vrindavan built by Srila Sanatana Gosvami. The original deity of this temple was taken to another temple which was built many years later in Karauli, Rajasthan to protect it from Aurangzeb. During Aurangzeb reign, when he was destroying all ancient temples and their deities, most of the deities were taken to other location for safety and protection. Today, a replica of the image of Madan Mohan JI is being worshiped at Madan Mohan Ji temple Vrindavan.

It is said that in ancient age, Advaita prabhu noticed and unearthed the main Madana Mohan deity from advaita banian tree base in Vrindavan. Advaita prabhu handed the responsibility to worship of Madan Mohan JI to Purusottama Chaube, Mathura, Later he passed it to Sanatana Gosvami. Along with Madan Mohan Ji, Shri Radharani and Shri Lalita sakhi are also worshipped in this heritage temple.

History of Madan Mohan temple:

About 5000 years ago, the king Vajranabh (The Great Grandson of Krishna) who firstly established this temple along with Shri Govind Dev Ji and Shri Gopinath Ji in Vrindavan. Later these temple disappeared. As per the historical records, the Madan Mohan Ji temple was built in 1580 by Ramdas Kapoor, a trader of Multan, under the guidance of Sri Sanatana Goswami. Later in 1670 during the attack of Mughal Ruler Aurangzeb the original deity of Madan Mohan was secretly moved to Jaipur for safty where it was worshipped for many years.

Later when the princess of royal family of Jaipur was married to the prince of Karauli, she took the deity along with her to Karauli and fromthat time it is established and worshipped in Karauli. During the attack of Aurangzeb on Vrindavan, the original temple was destroyed. A new temple was built in the early 19th century by Sri Nand Kumar Bose of Bengal.

The replicas of the original deities are worshipped in this new Madan Mohan temple. ik, Sharad Purnima, Govardhan Puja, Srila Prabhuapad Tirobhav, Gopaastami, Devotthan Ekadasi and many more are use to celebrate with full devotion and harmony every year.

Mangala Aarti:

Mangla Arti is performed at 4:00 AM only during Kartika month.

Temple Timing:

Summer : 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM and  5:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Winter: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
